This is the personal website of Darius LaBelle, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This notice explains what information the site collects and what happens to it.

The short version: information is used to respond to enquiries, remember privacy choices, keep the site secure, and, only with your permission, understand how the site is used. It is not sold and is not used for targeted advertising.

What is collected

Contact enquiries. If you use the contact form, the site collects your name, email address, selected topic, and message.

Technical information. Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses, request details, timestamps, and similar logs needed to deliver and protect the site.

Optional analytics. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics records information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referring source, and interactions with site content. Names, email addresses, and contact form messages are not sent to analytics.

Why it is used

Contact information is used to answer your enquiry and continue the conversation you requested. Technical information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the site, and to meet legal obligations.

Optional analytics is used to understand which pages and content are useful and to improve site performance. It is used only after you consent.

Depending on the law that applies, these activities rely on your consent, steps taken at your request, legitimate interests in operating a secure professional website, or compliance with legal obligations.

Cookies

Essential local storage records your privacy choice. Google Analytics cookies and requests remain blocked unless you choose to accept analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and personalised advertising remain disabled.

Cloudflare may set a short lived, strictly necessary security cookie to distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse. It is used for site protection, not analytics or advertising.

You can review the storage information at any time using the privacy settings button below. You can also clear local storage in your browser.

Who receives information

The site uses a small number of service providers:

  • Formspree, to receive contact form submissions.
  • Google Analytics, to measure site use only after analytics consent.
  • Amazon CloudFront, to deliver the background videos.
  • OpenAI and Cloudflare, for hosting, delivery, and security.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect legal rights, or to professional advisers who are required to keep it confidential. Personal information is not sold or shared for cross context behavioural advertising.

International transfers

These providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States or other locations where they operate. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards are used for international transfers.

How long information is kept

Enquiries are normally kept only while they are useful for responding and maintaining relevant correspondence, and usually no longer than 24 months. Security logs are retained for limited operational periods. Information may be kept longer where reasonably needed for legal claims or legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or details about how your information is used. You will not be treated differently for exercising a privacy right.

California and other applicable US state residents may also ask about categories of information collected, used, or disclosed. The site does not sell personal information, use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics, or share personal information for targeted advertising.

To make a request, use the contact form, select “Other,” and write “Privacy request” in your message. Reasonable information may be requested to verify your identity. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

This professional website is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

External links

The site links to articles, social profiles, and other third party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices.

This notice may be updated when the site or its services change. The effective date above will be revised when that happens.
